FWIW: The Nurburgring record was done with a stock wing I think.....so the carbon wing could not have been that much (if at all) better....or they would have used it.
Not to derail the convo, but I believe Honda also used the stock wheels when they set the record, though we know the forged wheels are significantly lighter. How do you conclude that the carbon wing isn’t much better (if at all), just because they didn’t use it at the N-ring?

My guess is that they intentionally didn’t add special equipment, when setting the record, just to mock the $80k+ (in 2019 dollars) Megane R.S. Trophy R Record Edition (yes that’s the whole name of the car lol) which was loaded with stuff not found on the normal car.

One more note : For perspective, $80k in 2019 is the same as $103k today. Let that sink in and we very easily see the performance bargain our cars truly are!

The results and lift coefficient that the video has derived here tells me that the model or methodology is inaccurate since the Honda themselves document that the vehicle produces 90kg of total downforce at 200kph. I suspect there's a lot of missing flow from a lack of underfloor detailing in the model since it was never shown in the video.

Regardless, our time attack car is producing around 300kg at 200kph with the Voltex Type 2 rear wing w/ 10mm gurney flap and a custom splitter with the brake ducts completely blocked off.

They talk a bit about the CF wing around the 4m mark in this vid. I think there is another one where they are indoors talking about the wing with more technical details but I can't find it anymore.

Does anyone know the angle/degree the oem spoiler is mounted? It doesn't seem to be a flat 0 degree position.

I was looking at this package until I watched @PointByPatrol's video -

Maybe they've improved the design since then. Now I'm looking at the AIMGAIN set, with apparently the downside of drilling into the bumper.

My understanding is that they resolved the concerns that I ran into.
