If Michelin is ever looking for an ambassador for their PS4S, I will be nominating you. 😝
Maybe there is a Michelin marketing person lurking here and one day I’ll get free tires 🤞🤣

Curious what you all are paying for track time and which groups you've run with?

I'm going in June with 10/10ths motorsports $550 for the weekend. 3 run groups instructor included. They claim 2+ hours a day of track time plus classroom. I really only have 2 tracks within 2 hours and this is about the going rate.

That's a fantastic rate!

Depending on the club, the track and the day of the week, prices may vary.

This past event for me was $750 for 3 days with 5 sessions per day. That doesn't account for the added cost of track insurance and Airbnb.

I usually run with SVT Mustang Cobra Club (don’t need to be a mustang owner). Good group. They charge $650 for 2 days at VIR. I also run with Racing for ALS. I can say enough good things about this group as everything goes towards ALS research. Their events are very hard to get into but once you’re in, you’re given priority. VIR is $750 for two days this year but it’s an annual event for many that includes an auction and banquet. I fundraise every year for this event. What I funds raise covers my “cost” (and then some) while also being tax deductible to those who donate . I will still pay my own way as a way to double my donations.

matter of fact if anyone wants to donate to this amazing cause:

Thanks for sharing everyone. I kind of expected VIR to be a little more it's a premier track in my mind. Closest thing I have to VIR is National Corvette Motorsports Park. Not as pretty as southwest Virginia. I lived in Blacksburg VA for a couple of years but never made it out to VIR. Regretting that now 😅

Not FL5 related but I thought some of you might enjoy this video. I took my Spec Miata to its first race since a big crash last year that destroyed all but one corner of the car. Spent the winter rebuilding it and converting it from the older Bilstein shock setup to the newer Penske shocks. Was waiting to paint until I knew if it would be fast again and I think it’s safe to say she’s ready for paint! Went from this

I was able to get the pole in qualifying and win both races.

Just looked back at my data. Top speed with the tune was on average 146, so only an 11 mph difference. I was doing a bit of lift and coast on the front straight, but only about 25 feet. The back straight I usually brake around the 2-3 marker. 11 mph is still a huge difference though!
And that was me holding back the power, there is more power to be had for sure if we were more aggressive with the tune.

Oh I believe it! That tune was perfectly safe for some HARD FLOGGING!
