This won’t be much of a build thread as my plan is to keep the car mostly stock. Mainly wanted to start a thread to keep track of any little things I do to it and keep some notes about the car.

Here it is the night I picked it up from the dealer.

Took the car to a cars and coffee event the first Saturday I owned it. Instantly had the attention of a lot of people. Was very cool to see how many people liked the car. Other than that so far have just been cruising around in it getting some easy break in miles.

After a month of ownership I finally broke down and bought a car washing starter kit from Chemical Guys. Foam cannon is fun but I still hate washing cars. Here it is during and after the wash.

Some small work to get done before a track day weekend coming up in early March. Going to change the oil, swap out the front pads for a set of Performance Friction 08 pads, flush the brake fluid with Castrol SRF, remove the front strut pins for more negative camber, and then align it. Then just hope and pray that the weather is warm enough in March to drive on the factory Michelins. Excited to see how the car performs on track.

Can't go wrong with either color. Although I'm a big fan of the blue. Planning to have it on the alignment rack tonight after work. Will snap some more pics of it then.

Got the alignment done tonight. Removing the pins for the front struts was pretty easy. Took camber readings before and after. Removing the pins gained -0.3 degrees of camber. Not a ton and unlikely to noticeably change how it handles but hopefully it will help with tire wear on track. Note- it did change the front toe a lot so if you plan on doing this you will need to check the toe.

Here she is on the alignment rack

Getting the strut pins out. Put some painters tape down to keep from scratching the paint with the washers.

Here is a pic showing how much room there is to move the strut. I’ll need to get some touch up paint to cover where the nuts were.

And finally the completed alignment numbers. (Caster is now green because I changed the specs at the end to make it green. Didn’t actually change anything on the car)

When we started calling about them we put deposits on a red one and then the blue one. It’s “technically” my wife’s car and she said she wanted whichever came in first. So happy the blue came in first haha.

I have a deposit on a boost blue and sometimes wish I could have CW, but then see pics of the blue and it looks so good ...

Championship White is iconic but zero chance I'd be able to keep it clean. Also, my Miata was blue with black accents so it seemed fitting to get the Boost Blue.

CW was my first choice and SGP second. Blue wasn't really on my radar but so glad I got it. The most striking and also most fun color of the bunch without a doubt.

Solid weekend of playing with the car. Nice weather yesterday so got to take it out for a blast. Then to the shop to get some track day prep done. Started with washing the wheels. Then came back today to ceramic coat the wheels and the Brembos. Got the front pads swapped out and the brake fluid flushed. 3 weekends until the track day where I’ll really get to see what this car is all about.

Beautiful color. I wish the Type S would offer a decent blue. Only their PMC Laguna Beach Blue is worthwhile 😒

First track day in the Type R is done. Holy shit this car is fun. I think I’d have to agree with the reviews I saw before buying it that unless you’re on a perfectly smooth track the +R mode is too stiff. Ran my best lap time in Individual mode but without being able to turn VSA off there is still some more time to be had. The VSA kept it from rotating in the slow speed turns and really forced me to slow up corner entry.

I did have some braking issues. The PFC pads that I put on it were causing a pretty bad vibration so I went back to the OEM pads. With both sets of pads I keep getting the yellow Brake System warning light coming on. Unsure what’s causing that but it seems to stop fine.

I was able to get the LogR to work and it’s very cool. Seeing lap times as you start cross finish is nice and the extra data available on the app later is fun to study.

Very nice! I haven't been up Summit Point in some time and always as a spectator.
