I'm not even sure what class I would have to put myself in if I was to time trial....I'd probably end up in the same class as a bunch of GT3's and never be competitive because of my mods.
I was going to say this is why I don't autocross. But I don't autocross because I want more than 6 minutes of seat time in a day ?

I think I've said it before, good autocross drivers make good track drivers. Not all good track drivers can be good AutoX drivers.

Respect to those that do it, because you have to be quick thinking, fast reaction and hands, and memorize a course that you will never see again after the 6 minutes.

I started out with autox. It was the cheapest ($30) to get into motorsports back when I was a sophomore in college. It was also a great way to work on your farmers tan.

Now I refuse to “work” if I have to pay to have fun.

There is occasionally a test and tune autox at my local track. Don't have to work and as many runs as you want. It's the only one I'd consider. No farmer tan needed ?

I tried it once, and the "work" portion was the part that surprised me. I think I got to go out maybe 2 or 3 times, so 6 minutes is about right for an ENTIRE day worth of getting sunburned in a hot parking lot staring at all the "cone killaaaaa" shirts walking by. The fastest car was an s2000 that never left 1st gear. They just slammed it on the rev limiter the entire time.

I like the little private track deal that my buddy puts on a couple of times a year at NCCAR. It's unlimited track time, almost no rules, no run groups, and less than 200 bucks.

AutoX is very cheap in some regions, the one up here, NNJR is very expensive to run, so I don't do it.

If it was an autox setup by the Corvette club, then you’d get a bit of a “long straight”. I started with a 2000 Civic Si, then a 01 Prelude, then a 03 Celica GT-S and then my 07 S2000. Never left second gear. I was elated to shift into third gear at my first HPDE event.

I think the last time checked it’s $100 now near me.

Not to change the subject away from AutoX - any news on the new TUBE AND FIN intercoolers?
