Hmmm. I'm gonna have to do this! Just gotta find the time! Great pictures and discussion.

Looks very very nice. CongratsInstall was easy, took about 1.5 hours and took my time dremeling and trimming the rear panel. I was expecting the shift knob collar to give me trouble but it popped off easily after rotating it 90 degrees and twisting back and forth while applying downward pressure.
The factory outlet that feeds into the footwell vents was a bit of a pain and I wound up breaking the two rear clips even when prying the tabs with a plastic tool so be careful.
Fitment on the rear panel is decent, the upper left won't sit flush even after all the trimming but it isn't something anyone would see.

I would read "diverting" to be splitting off flow, not necessarily wholly redirecting flow. To this end, since the blower is the fixed constraint, and your feedback that front vent flow is reduced at a given fan speed, yes the floor vents would be reduced. If the blocked plate didn't allow flow, additional flow would go through the other openings unless there was a significant restriction that is likely stalling the fan a bit (which is unlikely for OEM). Perfect example of this is close all vents except one and you'll feel the air flow increase. Works the same in your home for central air.It isn't diverting any flow, it's opening a path for the air to make it to the back from any mode setting other than defrost. The photo below compares the oem floor tube (bottom) to the new splitter tube (top). When on the face setting, the HVAC door was closing off flow to the floor vents on the oem tube through the single outlet. With the new splitter, the door closes on the floor outlet but leaves the new rear outlet open. Essentially the air from the factory was hitting the blocked off portion of the oem tube with nowhere to go.

There's a noticable reduction in airflow from the front vents with the rears open, but it's nothing horrible.
Was this a feature only forJDM Civics or are their certain USDM models that had this?Might be easier to find a salvage yard car if USDM. I'm also tempted to do this mod for my kids as well. The cost of the parts isn't bad but $94 shipping sure irks me...Sorry the Mikstore stuff all came without packaging or part #s so no help there. It certainly seems like an OEM part to me?
Here's JDM_DOHC_SiR's list they used:
83451-T24-T01ZA : Rear A/C Panel x1
83406-TVA-A01ZA : Rear A/C Vent x1
83453-T24-T01 : Rear A/C Duct x1
83460-T43-J00 : Front Lower A/C Duct x1
83465-T43-J00 : Rear Lower A/C Duct x1
91550-SFJ-W01ZE : Clips x3

Looks like the splitter is on another diagram so I don't know the part #, maybe ping JDM and see if they have a part # used and not listed, it's possible they decided to not use the splitter and just go with no floor vent (I think you can do that).
Fitment looks great from that angle. Any issues during fitting? Also, I’m assuming there’s a huge hole inside the glovebox compartment?Just got mine installed. I'm very happy.. there is no discernable loss in flow from the front vents. The USB's are illuminated and the USB "c" is nice to have.

Fitment is great. Full disclosure I have a guy who owns a small car audio shop and I had him install the vents. He also hard-wired my dashcam. And no there are huge holes in the glovebox. Not even a small hole.Fitment looks great from that angle. Any issues during fitting? Also, I’m assuming there’s a huge hole inside the glovebox compartment?
I still got the mikstore kit + the oem vent because of the fitment and the modifications that needed to be done to the kit doesn’t really fit the way it supposed to. I pay 273.12 for the kit and 141.47 for the oem parts but I bought couple of bolts and clips extra that I did not use. Because I look for the oem parts ant the part that diverts the air isn’t sold separately from the heat core or the part that is under there it was expensive. But all works perfectly for me and the shipping was fast for both mikstore I got it like on 3 days after I ordered and the JDM Yamamoto like 5 days after order.@Evox787 Cost wise, was it similar to getting it from the Mikstore?
