Best answer yet. Sometimes we over look the enjoyment of just driving cars. Meanwhile a 16 year old who has been racing karts since 5yo just passed you in a clapped out miata lolThis is my take on turning off TC completely. The goal isn’t to get the car to rotate more because I find the FL5 to rotate more than the FK8. Neither is the goal to prolong rear pad life. I just want to get decent lap times in my own world and have fun. Lastly to be able to drive home, so I chase time within my own comfort level.
Last year, second day at Watkins Glen, I long pressed TC. I found it to be really and it helped the car rotate. But this year, I found the FL5 to rotate just fine. But I will still turn it off to try next year.
I did get better times with comfort, +R was undrivable at these tracks. However now with the ITS module +R feels pretty damn good and sport feels perfectCar and Driver Lightning lap and there was another Japanese test that tested all the modes and both found comfort to be the fastest

I wrecked my first FL5 with pedal dance, but I do time attack, so need/want the fastest times , so I'll continue to do it. Driving it with TC on feels like wearing triple protection, and well that's no funI did get better times with comfort, +R was undrivable at these tracks. As far as TC goes as I said I leave it on and has been good. If I understood wtf all the modes are (half presses to full presses) lol then I would love to do something that turns only intervenes at the edge. I too agree that I am there to have fun and #1 goal is to bring the car and myself home safe.
I was just talking to someone that had an accident a few weeks ago, had all TC off and now runs TC, everyone seem to be in agreement that TC coulda probably saved him
For sure, everyone needs to assess the risks they are willing to take. And TC only goes so far too of course, can easily wreck with it on as well.I wrecked my first FL5 with pedal dance, but I do time attack, so need/want the fastest times , so I'll continue to do it. As long as the first layer is inside out and ribbed for your pleasure. Yea that's what I mean it's just a random rating if they are over powered they'll get banned I bet for series requiring a 200tw. Hoosier is putting them slightly under the R7 for whatever that's worth.Apparently tire rating doesn’t mean a whole lot and is based on what the manufacturer submits for comparison. Whether it’s true or not, these tires are starting to look alike.
