If you are going to VIR with fresh pads and rotors, you absolutely shouldn't need any spares...if you are using good equipment :).

I just did Day 9 (an additional 34 laps) on the CSG C1X....and the OG Giros are still on there at half life. Was even running stickier rubber this time with A052 and VR2.

Remember that OEM Brembo Rotors actually cost MORE than Giros -- they are between 400-500 per rotor, and shouldn't be serviced. Giros are 800 for both -- and replacement rings are only 600.

In addition to cost savings long term, you are also looking at increased thermal efficiency and performance for less.

I think the video with the 2:10.28 that I ran in the black car could be useful. Granted the speeds that the black car is capable of in the straights isn't necessarily a fair comparison, but excluding that, it was a very smooth lap, and a decent demonstration of the racing line.
i was thinking more of the G&G lap would be a closer more appropriate goal for stock turbo folks, but they did have coils, but I believe this car should be in the 2:10s with Tune and camber and tires

I think the oem rotors that come with the car are like $450 though for a pair

I think it's doable. It would be a push, but doable.

Wondering why y'all don't really switch to coilovers with all the time spent on track. Wouldn't you be faster?

Hint hint my KWV3 lightly used will be for sale in the spring. Got something crazy lined up lol

coils are my next big mod, but I really only get to go out to 2-3 events a year :( I spend most times just talking about it :\

Coilovers don't necessarily = faster laps -- you still need to drive it, and generally require a proper setup to be effective. For instance buying 3 ways is just silly, if you can't properly dial them in. You'll never get the actual value of them.

I can see Coilovers being a more useful investment on the FL5 for some because the stock dampers are a bit over damped for a lot of our bumpy tracks, where some more fine adjustment is needed to settle the car.

MK7.5 GTI with OEM IS38 (Golf R turbo) tune, springs/shocks, dp and ic some other misc mods almost doing 2:08s on 71RS. I think 2:10s, low 2:11s are in the cards

Yep. This is my buddy Tony. It's taken him years to get to this point, and there is quite a bit actually done to the car.
