DK recommend and loved the Spoon springs. I cant find the video, but he was surprised that Spoon was only charging $600 ish for them. Can someone help me find that video? Because of his endorsement and Jomoto-san recommendation… I went with Spoon springs

I know the reverse rake has been discussed many times, but I saw a recent video where Jomoto-san claims that's not the case. He said it only appears that way because the way the fender arch is positioned. I have no firsthand experience with the Spoon springs, but thought that was an interesting statement. Here's the video, see the 4:05 mark.

Thanks for sharing! Didn't know the measured at the jack-points and the rear arches are just much lower on the FL5. I have the Spoon Springs on our shop car as well, and noticed the "rake". Ultimately if it does bother someone then it's best they go with H&R for the more even look. Swifts will be good too

To those who have had alignments done, at what point or drop do you need to really consider the extra hardware to correct the adjustments to be in spec vs just installing the springs and still being I spec with out chewing up tires on the daily drive?

With any lowering spring you will need an alignment. Even with the lowest springs you dont NEED rear camber arms but you will need to adjust the toe settings.

Unless you plan to slam the car over 1.5" drop you dont need to worry about alignment parts. People do still buy them if they are track focused to make sure they can have the perfect adjustment and setup, but its not 100% necessary.

At -20mm the multi-link rear end gains about 0.5° of negative camber. Essentially going from around -1.5° to -2.0° which imo suits a wide range of driving from spirited street all the way to track. For more extreme track goers you'd want more negative (around -2.5°) which you would need adj camber arms for.

The front end doesn't gain or lose much camber at this level of lowering since its a macpherson design. I saw not even 0.1° difference between -20mm and stock height. If you lowered further than -20mm you might actually find negative camber loss (ie camber towards the positive) as the LCA articulates further through its arc of travel.

You’re not wrong! And that’s coming from a person with a fair amount of Spoon components on my S2000.

Buy it direct from Japan closer to the source. It's like 35-45% off in many cases. Go Tuning Unlimited is straight up taxing for those Spoon parts in the U.S.!

From comparing the spring rates in most aftermarket options, I´d go with Swift springs if you ever plan to track the car.

I would also not go with anything other than Ohlins for a coilover setup. At least if you go on a off the shelf setup
