Nothing about that makes sense to me other than perhaps the “uncomfortable” part if running the heat.

Pedal dance takes 10 seconds, saves your brakes, and has no downside on track.

Rain guard takes 30 seconds, zero downside.

Camber will be a problem for PS4S if his 7/10 is fast enough. I know this from going through a lot of PS4S tires on track before and after camber adjustment.

If its a cool day the car will be totally fine and won't come close to "overheating". Removing the rain gutter does take no time though and maybe a why not however Id not run the heat and be miserable for no reason.

As far as pedal dance, this is all preference. Some people are faster with just +R and long press as the car rotates better. Id try both ways and see what the driver prefers.

I feel like this car does ok with not a lot of camber, my tires lasted ok when i did not have camber and the RZs are impressive, they are lasting longer than I would image them to.

You won't roast the CSGs in one day even if you don't pedal dance

Personally Id save my time and money and just run it stock vs pins + alignment. But thats just me. Eventually get some camber on the car.

0.3deg more negative camber is so little I tend to agree. Especially with the cost of alignments here. What do people typically do for camber on these cars before going all out on coils and arms? Is there an equivalent to the camber bolts that us 86 folks run on stock suspension?

if stock suspension most people do camber lower ball joints. You get 3 adjustments, stock +1 and +2 ish. And can dial a little more or less with the pins removed

The PS4S won’t hit the track unless it rains. I’ll be on those RE71RZs pictured above.

I’ll do the rain guard and pedal dance and just keep an eye on stuff. CSG pads are expensive (also incredible btw, blew me away even pre-bedding at street temps) so I’d rather not roast the rears on day 1. 7/10ths to start and we’ll see if I can restrain myself

Pedal dance isn’t about going faster, but rather avoiding unnecessary wear on rear brakes.

I forgot to mention I did the paragon titanium shims with the CSG pads. Between that and the Endless fluid I should be good on fluid temps. I am genuinely floored at how, right out of the box, the C1Xb stops the car like it hit a wall. Of course the tires are the major component there. Compared to stock pads they have a firmer feel will far less squishy compressions

Interesting that they have WAY more cold bite than the CSG CP I have on my GR86 on Brembo BM4 calipers. It takes a few hard stops for those to start doing their thing. They’ve seen a few track days now too so it’s not like there isn’t a transfer layer on the new rotors. Hard to know if that’s the sum of many different parts or just a pure pad characteristic.

Luckily the two calipers share a pad shape so I’ll try the CP on the CTR to see if it’s the same behavior.

I'm not trying to invalidate your opinions - I just don't agree that the advice is valid for the scenario described. Someone going 7/10 in cool temperatures isn't going to come even remotely close to having brake, temperature, or camber issues. He's already upgraded his pads and fluids, but he would have been fine without doing those, too - the OEM would be totally fine for someone, again, doing 7/10 in cool temperatures, trying to get comfortable with their car. A long hold (versus the pedal dance) is more than sufficient for someone in his position. In my opinion, the rear brake vectoring he gets from agile handling assist is going to make him faster and feel more confident and the impact on his brakes is going to be negligible - totally worth the trade off for someone's first trip on the track with their car. As for the rain guard, maybe it's easier with the FL5, but it's not a 30 second job with the FK8. Either way, again, he's not going to be going nearly fast enough that it's going to make any appreciable difference at all. Finally, I assume he's going to track on the RE71's he mentioned in his post, which will be just fine at his speed and camber. MAYBE towards the end of his experience, as he reaches his most confident, he'll start to scrub the outer shoulder a bit, but again, the tires will be fine. Just my opinion.
