Track liability/damage question: Anyone know how to get a listing of how much tracks charge for cleanup/restoration? Such as oil cleanup, barrier damage cost, tire wall cost?

I had heard places like Barber MSP even charge for grass restoration if you have an off and leave marks in the grass.

I doubt there is any central listing of this, may have to reach out to each track on my own.
VIR is EXPENSIVE for Armco. Couple Thousand easy.

If you are super worried about this -- get Track Insurance from Open Track and make sure you get the Liability component -- this will cover those expenses if they occur.

re: Hogpen in the sim -- it's very different in real life. The compression you feel really can't be replicated with a non-motion rig. It actually made hog pen REALLY hard to drive it the sim because you couldn't respond to the trained compression.

Or -- run exclusively SCCA events, who has an insurance policy that assumes the cost of any damages.

Worried is the wrong word I think. Aware is more like it. Just being aware that there are other costs when pushing past skill or comfort level. And if that's the plan liability would be a good thing to have. Especially on tracks with less run off room. Just my thoughts.

i wouldn't take run off room into consideration. NJMP has tons of runoff, but cars still crash into barriers.

Also for track insurance is there a website that I can easily use to shop around?

On the tracks website they only offer Hagerty and it was like $450 for a quote lol. Seems pretty high right?
Hagerty runs high in general. I've found myself using Lockton, even though I'm not a fan of them.

Okay so Im at the track, and something happened again.

I was driving and all of a sudden the car felt like it went into limp mode and it thew a bunch of codes

Im seeing codes P0219 and P0299 And U0401

P0219 is saying that I over revved the engine. Not really sure how that happened but I didn't money shift the car

For P0299 Google is telling me that its a turbo underboost condition. I haven't seen any posts related to it from people getting these issues on track.

Is the car safe to drive or should I tow it back? Anybody know what I should do lol?

SCCA Time Trials/Time Attack 2026 possible rule set change

"The TTB is exploring the removal of tunes in Sport for 2026. We are asking for member feedback on this topic. The Car Classing Committee is working on the resulting adjustment to the classing that would be required to bring the non-tuned performance levels into alignment, and will release that info once completed."

I wasn't using worried in a negative sense. It's a legitimate concern that people have, and luckily there is a product for it who have lower risk thresholds.

I always have track insurance -- since day 1 -- but I've personally never went for the track liability coverage. I've typically run with orgs that would cover it, or adjust my risk tolerance accordingly when driving in areas where there is a higher risk of a track damage incident.

Ultimately pushing past comfort level should be a gradual and methodical effort to understand and build toward higher vMins

My low fuel light came on at the track before but that’s before I was getting ready to line up. Didn’t get those codes. So when on track and the car is low on fuel, these codes pop up?
