Been awhile since I took the Civic to the track and I had forgot how much fun it is. These cars are incredible. Lowered my PB by .8 seconds. But still .8 away from the current track record. Still have some work to do to cut time but had a blast. I took a few coworkers for rides and I don’t think either expected it to be as fast as it is. Also, almost hit a turkey lol.

Day 3 update!

Due to some unfortunate luck from the Elantra N (they had their first 5 heat times DSQd due to missing rear seats which is only legal if you have safety gear back there - not like that was impacting times, but it's the rules, and then this morning it booped a tire wall after the kink) I managed to qualify for the podium sprint. Had Will in the EN put a decent time together I think I wouldn't have made it, as Eddy dropped 1.5s out of nowhere (which I later found out from chatting with him was from a new set of tires as he was previously on older tires that had far less grip than he thought they would).

So, I made the sprint, but given how much faster Eddy was now I figured I'd probably stay in 5th, which I did. Not too bad I guess all things considered given I just threw the coilovers on last weekend, but I never did get the balance sorted, and Eddy concurs with @BigBird that a reverse stagger would help immensely, so that's probably in the cards for the next race (I'll probably just buy 2 wheels and 2 tires to try it and if I like it I'll get a few sets of rears to match the 8 fronts I'd have at that point).

Here's the fastest lap from today (which was the fastest overall) - it's within the same tenth as the last one, but I did feel like I got the car placement better in a few spots. As the car was, I don't think there was 0.8s easily achievable to catch Eddy - too many mid-speed sweepers where I just was waiting on the front to turn.

Wow! Btw what is your camera mount setup? I still can't get a good spot for mine with the mounts I've tried, but that angle you have is exactly what I want.

Congrats on a successful first weekend!

Would be interesting to see how the reverse stagger plays out especially if able to kind of test it back to back.

All in all great driving and can't wait to see more updates. Come on out to VIR!

I’m using this mount- https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GTZJA7...A7Y&ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_SZVTJ0XSPF8TGEXY59QN
It wraps through the hole in the seat. This pic is old and not quite where I had the camera positioned last weekend but gives you the basic idea. It seems pretty steady but idk if it’ll work great with how hard you’re crushing that kink curbing 😂

Ah ok, I tried that exact mount and the seat was shaking too much at autocross so I didn't really care for it. And ya, the curbs go brrrrr and do like to make cameras move around lol

Ordered the Wagner IC. I think that wraps up my build.
