Wheel/tire question: Anyone see a need for 10.5" vs 9.5" wheel width for a Type R that will still see street use often? Lots of 285 and 275 width tire options which still fit fine on a 9.5" wheel. Am I missing something?

Looking at the Apex Black Friday sale and the VS-5RS in Motorsport Gold ended up in my cart. Crazy!

I mentioned getting a new set of wheels to the wife:

"I thought you just got new wheels?"

My list of excuses is long :drive:

No, those were for winter.
or
No those were for the van.
or
No those were for the old car.
or
No those aren't for the track.
or
No those are track only.
or
No those tires don't fit the new wheels.

The best one "don't worry I'll sell the old set on Facebook"

One thing that seemed to make buying car parts easier for me and my buddies was to talk in Race Dollars. Basically 1 Race Dollar = $100. It doesn't take the wives long to figure out the math but the saying "it only costs 12 race dollars" is a lot better than "it's $1200." I think the few seconds it takes to do the math takes the edge off lol. Eventually it starts to work on yourself and makes it even easier to buy stuff. Credit card companies love it.

I'd love to have 10.5 race wheels!

275 would be the widest I would advise on a 9.5. Still fitting fine and fast on track are definitely different things. If you are not needing to be competitive just stick with a 9.5 / 265 combo all around.

Nice driving! I love those damn gloves!
Thank you!

I know I still need a lot to improve upon, but I’m so happy how reliable and easy the car is to drive at the limit!

4 tracks days done and Im still completely stock. I did run through the OEM pads on my last event, good thing I had new pads with me in my toolbox to get me home.
