I waa thinking about getting a front lip for aesthetics but after seeing all of these comments, its probably better to just stay stock 😅

the M & M looks better but I just hate that its not a single piece, for that price should be a single piece.

I’m torn between the M&M and Mugen front lip. Excited to hear your thoughts when you do get the lip installed on your car.
I thought about the Mugen front lip but it needs the sides and rear to look right. The M&M Honda looks like it will go well with the stock sides since it has the same flare at the ends. Likely not going to get it for another 6 months. Definitely will post here when I get it installed.

When I track, I don’t use the kerbs as much so I’m not overly concerned.
Looking at your profile photo vs the car behind you....you do seem to be "curb-averse".

It will comes with time, some youtube, and confidence which ones you need to use and which you can ignore, but usually not all of them lol.

Yup. That picture is coming out of the bus stop at WTGI. Sometimes I clip the one on the right going in and sometimes coming out on the left. Of the times I deliberately used the kerbs, I didn’t like it. Just felt jarring. I did this with the S2000, FK8 and FL5. None felt good.

I do use the kerbs coming out of turn 1 at WTGI. Mostly, I’m kerb adverse and rather make up time elsewhere.

the ones at VIR are definitely jarring, they are cut gator curbs, but that's why they created suspension lol.

Whatever you are comfortable with, is what works for your, and let's you bring home your car at the end, then I'm all for it.

Funny thing I actually don’t like the Mugen Side-skirts and rear valances. I’d be happy with just the Mugen front lip, attach a Racebred Splitter and call it a day.

But I’m not ready for aero, I’m saving up for some proper brake calipers, and coil-overs.

I chase lap times up to a certain point. I should say that my suspension on the S2000 with Ohlins 13k Front and 12k rear felt fine. It was planted. Except the tilt is what I don’t like. At the end of the day, I accept shortcomings. Biggest shortcoming is my lack of skills. 😂

Upgrading calipers? The stock ones are not sufficient?

The stock calipers are plenty sufficient but I would like a caliper that can offer a larger pad. I’m about to jump on my fourth set of pads. Granted, I do daily my car so I know a lot of material is being wasted away.

I am with you if I had the money for proper upgrades I would do suspension first then calipers. Proper aero is awesome but I almost feel like when you are that far, then gotta get a cage and proper buckets the car starts being less of a dual duty and more track focus and I think there are better platforms for that imo

NCM has a mix of gator and smooth kerbs. I was basically told (specific to NCM) stay off the gators and ride completely over some of the smooth kerbs. Might be too simplistic, but it definitely helped with a consistent line and remembering 24 corners. I need to get @Rexpelagi to ride shotgun at some point

I disagree with @BigBird a smidge on the curbing at VIR. I've been sitting here combing through the lap in my head, and there is really only one curb on the track that I use that I would consider jarring, and that's the curb coming out of turn 6 "snake", but that curb is worth the jarring feeling because it helps to launch the car into a straight line, and sets you up better for a higher top speed through the bridge straight. You can barely feel the curbs in the esses,or hog pen because the car is lighter through the hill crests. You certainly want to avoid any curb on the side of the car where the suspension is loaded, but that seems pretty self explanatory.

Any time! There's some curbing that's good to use but only in a few places (1a/b, 21-23 are the main ones - 12 can do more harm than good), and there's rumble strip curbing that's ok to straddle (exit of 8, exit of 10, exit of 13), but honestly with the craptastic damping of the stock suspension I'm not sure you want to do much of anything in the FL5 😂.

Also, there are only 23 "official" corners at NCM (if you take 1a/b as "1") so you can drop one from your memory. :)
