I use Track Addict. It's a phone app for like $10. Just need a good phone mount and you are good to go.

I use Garmin catalyst.

It looks like Harry’s lap timer works with Apple CarPlay.

Big fan of Garmin Catalyst as well. I’ve found that it’s very easy to use, with a simple interface and just the right amount of data — at least for beginner like me. A bit pricey but totally worth it IMO.

I have a setup that's evolved over time but I wouldn't really recommend it - currently I use an OBD2 BT dongle for engine data, with a Racebox Mini for GPS data, integrated through an older Android tablet running RaceChrono Pro (which also gives me the real-time display), and an external camera for overlays. It works, but there are inevitably instances where something isn't talking to the tablet, which can be incredibly frustrating in grid.

From what I've seen the Catalyst works great, and it's probably what I'd do if I was starting out now.

I had a great weekend earlier this month. Ran two days at Circuit Mont Tremblant. I was running EBC RPX in the front and Hawk DTC-30 in the rear. The entire day was raining, so it kept everything nice and cool. The pads effectively look brand new. Using castrol SRF brake pedal was solid.

I swapped back to the OEM FL5 pads after a week of street driving in town on the track pads. The brake performance seems suspiciously worse now. I'm assuming it's because the RPX transfer layer is still on the rotors?

Question for you guys, what brake PSI does the the guage cluster tell you at max pedal force? I'm assuming there's no way I introduced air into the caliber when compressing them

I also have catalyst. Its great for sure but its 1 grand. I think Id not buy it unless I am doing a bunch of track days a year, I do just a few and phone + gps stand alone and harrys laptimer would be just fine. However if you have 1 grand laying around lol catalyst is great

I would actually argue for the Catalyst is even more of a value for novices/intermediates because of the virtual "coach" (which is actually not bad in all reality) - definitely points you in the right direction on what you can improve. The only drawback is no ODB2 datalogging functionality which can limit you if/when you need to dive into data logging. Many people actually run both AiM Solo 2 + Catalyst. You gotta remember that improving driving will yeild better laptimes, not chase laptimes on the front end - it wont necessarily make you a better driver, so a Catalyst with the driving coach gets you that (Its not a replacement for in person coaching though).

the thing with the catalyst its only telling you what you have done before so if there is a better line and you have never tried it its not telling you that. So yeah its a good coach for novice and intermediate but it could also tell you something that is not the best way of doing it. Best instructor is a real instructor at the end of the day but we all know this

Supplement with chatting with people who drive the same (type) car on accelerate/braking/shifting zones, visual markers, etc.

Oh im not trying to replace my instructor by no mean he's inputs are really important in just want my data to see how im improving. And some day when I promote i already have the system.
